Palestinian victims by Israeli forces

Since the year 2000 until 2021, 10,160 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli Security Forces, about half (4,888) of which were not participating in hostilities. Of the rest, 3,468 were hostile and the rest were either unknown or a result of collateral damage. This amounts to 924 Palestinians kill per year or 78 per month.

Palestinian children

2,183 Palestinian minors have been killed since the year 2000, of which 330 were age 5 or younger. 562 of those were killed in the year 2014 alone.

 

Israeli victims of Palestinian forces

Since the year 2000 until 2021, 1274 Israelis have been killed by Palestinians, of which 837 were civilians (66% or two thirds). That amounts to 76 civilian victims per year or 6.34 per month. 

 

Israeli children

139 Israeli minors have been killed since the year 2000, of which 33 were age 5 or younger. Deaths of Israeli children have decreased precipitously in recent times: 21 Israeli children have been killed by Palestinians since the year 2006 and 5 since 2015.

 

The Evolution of the conflict

The intensity of the conflict has decreased has decreased in recent times. 3,432 Palestinian civilians and 123 Israeli civilians have been killed since 2008. As for minors, 1,347 Palestinian and 123 Israeli children have been killed. More than 100,000 people have been injured.

During last year (2021), 123 Palestinian civilians and 9 Israeli civilians were killed, as well as 64 and 2 children respectively.

Proportion of deaths

A total of 10,160 Palestinians and 1274 Israelis have been killed since the year 2000. This amounts to 8 Palestinians for every Israeli death.

2,183 Palestinian children and 139 Israeli children have died. This translates to 15.7 Palestinian children killed for every Israeli.

Since 2008, the ratio of Palestinian to Israeli victims was 25 to 1; 64 to 1 for children. However, last year (2021) those two ratios were cut almost in half (12 to 1 and 32 to 1 respectively).

 

Final considerations

  • More than half of the victims from both sides are unarmed civilians.
  • The overwhelming majority of the victims of the conflict have been Palestinians.
  • A large portion of the victims of the conflict are children; about 39% since 2008.
  • The victims are overwhelmingly on the Palestinian side.
